A biog note:From the age of eight, Paul sang as boy treble in the choir of the Cathedral of Christ the King, Mullingar, becoming a regular soloist and head chorister. Still in his home town, he was awarded a music scholarship to study at the Schola Cantorum of St. Finian's College where he studied piano and organ (and some guitar). Following his secondary level education, he moved to Dublin to read Music at Trinity College and took singing lessons at the DIT Conservatory of Music and the Royal Irish Academy of Music. As an undergraduate he sang with the college chapel choir, was elected conductor of the college chamber choir and became involved in contemporary Classical music performance and composition.
|
Following his graduation (BA, Hons), Paul took a post at St. Patrick's Cathedral for thirteen years, singing seven services per week with performances in Ireland and abroad. Throughout these early years, he sang in various opera productions, RTE recordings, movie soundtracks and toured often with Irish choir Anúna. The choir of an Garda Síochána elected him as conductor, as did Belvedere College and various amateur choirs. Around 2007, Paul founded two vocal groups of his own named Crux Vocal Ensemble and 4 in a Bar - the first to perform ancient music and chant, the second to enjoy barbershop harmony singing with friends. 4 in a Bar were awarded the gold medal for IABS National Champion Quartet several times in recent years. In addition, Paul spent over two years touring with the Irish show Celtic Woman in the USA, Canada and Japan.

Paul is now permanently based in Churchtown in south Dublin city from where he manages a portfolio of performers, singers and instrumentalists.
